Illustration Friday has been on hold -
the words have not inspired me much.
This one is an old idea I painted a few years ago
when trying to make a body of work.
I reworked it a little here but it is still blah...
Anyone have ideas to make it better?
How do I add more drama?
What is this missing?

I think the idea is great, I also like the transparencies you're using. Maybe exaggerating the gestures more, the black piece bigger, more terrifying, the white pawn cowering in the corner. One dominant light source maybe. Just some thoughts, hope this helps.
