bridge 2 - day 1

another painting started -
Progressing nicely - just day 1 though -

Paris painting - Bridge 1

16" x 18"on wood
acrylic and ink

This is the first of many paintings
in my head
from my trip to Paris.

The bridges of Paris are each different.
Each one tells the story of when it was made.
This one has a story.
I am just not sure what it is yet :)

two more experiments...

 image transfer on canvas -
some of the base paint rubbed off a little
but I really love this stuff.
maybe i need to seal it once and then do the transfer....

image transfer again - but this one is over other collage pieces
paper and paint on board.

allowing myself to experiment with this is a big step -
messing around is fun...

new collage trees with dictionary pages

I have been messing around with these for a while -
trying to just make stuff - not judge it - just do it...
they are at a spot to show, done?
unknown for now -

they aren't signed so that maybe a sign they aren't complete

but in an attempt to keep moving forward,
sometimes you have to stop
take note
and move on.

each is 6" x 6" square

sketchbook - for the library...

long time no post
(at almost a month...geeze...)

gladly it isn't because I haven't been doing art...
I just wanted to wait until I finished my little project.
Some friends and I are working on a book for the 2011 Sketchbook project.
I finished my pages tonight.
The theme is travel...
and I hope we will get to travel to see our little book!

I found that while working on this, I wanted to try new things and play.
Not just draw, like I usually do in my sketchbooks.
It was a really fun project!

My pages are based on my trip to Wisconsin this summer.
I used drawings and photos from the trip to create...

pen and water color crayons

pen

mixed media
photo copy, tape, pen, acrylic paint
(I think that is all...)

map, tape, pen, acrylic

pen and paint and photographs

catch up - non-painting night.

Tonight I got to frame and matte eight pieces of art
that will hang at Pasquini's in Lone Tree,
starting this weekend.

I am so excited to be putting art on a wall
(other than my own).
it is the first time since college
proving that anything is possible if you just do it.
Wanting it is not enough, you have to work hard.

The old pieces are moving out...
making room for these new pieces...
The new stuff is still not as refined,
but sometimes the process is the best part.

this is mixed media on canvas
(paper, acrylic, ink)
10" x 8"

I stopped off at Good Will on the way home last week.
I got myself a $2 dictionary that I could justify destroying.
I added a page to this painting... it needed a little something.

on the road to this one...

6" x 10"
acrylic, paper, dictionary, crayon, ink and photo copy on pannel

now I need to make a group of these :)

on the strait and narrow

sometimes you have that weird little wall
and don't know what to put on it...
I have a painting for that...

Here are two new paintings
i
had a happy dream and these were in the background
so I figured
I should make them.

for someone who doesn't think she does landscapes,
I sure do a lot of landscapes...

This one is 6" x 21"
acrylic, paper and ink on wood.

and this one is
6" x 19"
acrylic, paper and ink on wood

messy trees take 2

the "messy" trees strike again -
this time a little bigger and on canvas.
I started many little paintings this week here is a sneak peak at 2 of them.

both are
8" x 10"
mixed media
(acrylic, paper and ink)
on canvas

once these are dry, I might try scanning them in...
The canvas is harder to write on but it was around.
I have more boards coming...
so much in my head, so little time!
:)
